Black Jack was founded by two friends, Diego Stegmeier, and Raul Guarda. Started playing in 2005, along with Sebastian Villagra, another friend. Played every weekend in the city center. In pubs, at parties and public places in general. They played covers of The Beatles, Oasis, The Strokes and the people were received with applause. In 2006, the band did a turn. Were invited to a tour. This is because it had become quite popular in 2005. The tour was a success for the band, and took things more seriously. After the tour, the band continued playing in pubs, but now were more recognition and prestige. 2 months later, Sebastian Villagra left the group, and enter Franco Aravena as his replacement. But he did not want to play the bass, which was the instrument he played Villagra. So, did the second guitar in the band and to play the bass, came Joaquín Lagos.
Along with Lagos, as were 2 months, but it was for internal problems, and entered the current bassist Rodrigo Pacheco. Ending 2006, with some concern about the future, because the constant departures of members who had lived a strange environment. But the year 2007 would say otherwise. For the first time the band will enter the studio this year and would record a CD that showed the beginning of what we see today in Black Jack. The group entered the studio in 2007, in June, and recorded 5 unpublished at the time.
Among them, the songs "Dejar de Pensar" and "Escuchar", which are the current singles from Black Jack. This first work had great success on the radio and people. The presentations of the group, recognized the songs from the band and on the internet are downloaded. And in 2008, the band re-recorded the songs "Dejar de Pensar" and "Escuchar" (which were the most popular of his first album) and felt like the first 2 singles from Black Jack.
Today the group is preparing new album. But enough has been delayed following the departure of Raul Guarda in february 2009. However, the band already has a replacement and continue working. The band played at a music festival in the city of Concepción. And here showed their third single, called "Realidad".[1] Weeks ago, the band has officially confirmed the new guitarist, named Felipe Gutierrez. In 2009, the band changed its name to Black Jack.
Black Jack shows and defines their sound as "very influenced". One of these influences are clearly The Beatles, Oasis, The Strokes, Radiohead and Aerosmith. We re affirmed the group's main composer, Diego Stegmeier, "las bandas británicas, como Oasis, por ejemplo, son mi principal influencia para componer las letras, los acordes, todo eso" ("British bands like Oasis for example, are my main influences for composing, lyrics, chords and all that").
Other bands that influence to Black Jack, Red Hot Chili Peppers are and Soda Stereo.
